Jeremy Hawkins has left Melbourne.

Unable to secure an NRL contract, the 24-year-old has signed on with Redcliffe in the Queensland Cup.

A centre-winger, Hawkins made his NRL debut with Canberra in 2014 where he played seven top grade games over two seasons before moving to the Storm on a two-year-deal.

Newcastle will keep an eye on his performances early in the season with an NRL release clause written into Hawkins’ Q Cup deal.
