And they're most probably right. I've only been to Newcastle twice, so I'm no expert, but from what I saw, I'd want a big pay rise & job security to move there.
The esplanade was really nice, but a block over had security bars over windows & spew all over the footpaths when I was there... not the best selling point for me.
Your no expert so probs best to shhhhhh

Oh yeh, for sure from me too. Maybe as a high money earner Newcastle would be nice, but I wouldn't be moving there to do line work, that's for sure.
I just don't think players would be too keen on Newcastle unless it's a big financial advantage or unless it looks good on the resume... we're a long way off looking good on the resume

Newcastle is bigger than the Gold Coast, and some parts of it are pretty slummy, and some parts of it are as good as anywhere in Australia.
The problem with attracting players is the thing they see when they come to play games are some of the old working class suburbs from the early 20th century.
I've said for years that we need to move the training base to a nice part of the town or the valley - but every time I try to put that argument it turns into a slanging match about why the places I name are not what player's want - so let me just say, there is every type of suburb imaginable from Wyee in the south to Nelson's bay in the north, and we could do better than Mayfield.

There is a reason why out side of Sydney it's one of the fastest growing property prices in Australia it's tough living 2 min from the beach you guys should stay where you are it must be better living in western Sydney

Yeah, I went to a game at Redfern a few years ago and felt like I needed an armed escort if I was going to get out alive.

Brisbane have the cap space to offer him 250k so we would have had to pay more to entice him to relocate and play for a biotin 4 team making the necessary offer closer to 400k than 250k plus with the likes of Thaiday and Blair coming to the end of the road he was going to be in the side sooner than later.

I always love these little t
Now your Guessing how much a player would want to leave the club he is at uproot his family and move to Newy come on guys far out this is getting Nasty and Stupid on here .....

Yep.

Yes I do.
You're wrong if you think Ponga is only on 350k.

When we were trying to get him released early it was reported that he could earn an extra 240k this year if they released him. His On minimium wage now?? 350k would be a ballpark figure for his first yr if those reports were true.

I live in a town in western qld joey, I'm just describing my first impressions of Newcastle. I'm assuming an away football player would be there as long & see about the same as me.
One thing I will say in Newcastles favour from our first visit, everywhere we went on the esplanade side, people were lovely, we were blown away by their hospitality

Listo-as a Novocastrian who's had to spend most of their adult life out of Newcastle due to work and study, I can assure you the worst thing about Newcastle is the lack of varying industry/opportunity.
If someone paid me big bucks to relocate to Newcastle I would literally be laughing all the way to the bank.
I would live in Cooks Hill, have Bar beach my local and drive 15 mins to training in Mayfield any day of my life than move to Moorebank and do the Western Sydney grind that the Dogs/Panthers/eels/tigers players do.
It's crazy that browny seems to be the first coach to try and sell the lifestyle the region has to offer.

But it's super great that you're a Nth QLDer and you love the knights. I honestly thought a love of the hunter region would be the main reason for a love of the team.

Of course we are right.
Do people actually believe Ponga is coming to Newcastle to play under Browny to collect wooden spoons for $350k and a nice esplanade Lol

I'm built like the Rock make $5000 an hour and my girl has boobs like Pamela Anderson at her best...... Lefty anyone can say anything doesn't mean its true ....
