Knights selected in Rep Teams

The Worriers could play their game in Windyville, known as Wellington as there is strong interest for another team there. After Brisbane gets a second team and bursts the Broncs bubble.

Blocker saying last night on Sterlo that the NRL should have every team play one game per year in the country, which I think is the best option! Driving long distances for most country people is nothing, if the games are spread throughout regional NSW and QLD people will travel, and have the opportunity to see multiple games per season without coming to Sydney or Brisbane! Not to mention the boost to small town economies! I think it is time for the NRL to give a little bit back and this would be the perfect gesture!

Agree 100% longprong but the sticking point will be Uncle Rupe's lad Turdburg. Just not too many good decisions coming out of NRL HQ.

Meaney is a very odd residents selection.
They usually pick guys who are very close to playing firstgrade after a few years in reserves - King is a good example - not guys like Meaney who is still NYC age and still learning his job.

Very strange, any Knights on the coaching/selection staff? Or has he genuinely been better than the countless fullbacks & wingers across the comp that missed out?

I don't think they try to pick the "best", because those guys are usually firstgraders coming back from injury or something. They tend to pick guys who are not getting any firstgrade love, but look like they should be.

Interesting that Ben Stone has been picked to play for Malta.
Sam must not be available because Malta are not in the World Cup, so not that big a deal.
Their mother's family must be Maltese, because Rick sure doesn't look like he is.
Sam does look a bit like Mario Fenech's love child.

NSW Residents coach Rip Taylor has his say on Meaney and King

18. Josh King (Newcastle Knights)

Coach Rip Taylor says: Josh has worked hard to get himself where he’s at, Newcastle are a better team when he’s in it.

19. Nick Meaney (Newcastle Knights)

Coach Rip Taylor says: A young fella that has come through the Knights system, very allusive and good around the football, if he gets his chance he won’t let anyone down.

The oddest thing for mine Billy is anyone from our NRL and reggies side could be picked for anything at all the terrible run we have had and lack of quality players.

Seriously the only player in the Club, other than juniors, that merits selection is Gags.

Hopefully this rep break will re-energise the squad a bit. Playing for another team, environment and learning what they can from their respective camps etc.

Could see an improvement in the game against the Raiders due to the follow on effect.

A part of a fox sports article saying Nathan Ross could be an origin bolter.
Fair chance he won't be picked but it can't hurt him to have Laurie saying those good things about him

Sione is the guy I think will make a real statement this weekend.
Samoa will be going hard to beat England, and Sione will be trying to have the game of his life, and I've seen him lift in big games enough to know that he will rip in.

Ross will also have the game of his life if he can. This is what he has been working for, and he will grab his chance or die trying.

I just want a good 30 minutes from Pauli to show he is a genuine firstgrader at the lower weight of 120kg.

The Saifitis need to do enough to ensure their world cup selection.

Pete will also be trying to wrap up a world cup spot.

Ross won't die wondering. His biggest issue will be trying too hard- I thought in that trial match vs Canberra he made some silly mistakes from being a bit too eager nearly. Needs to balance a bit of calm in with that energy..

Funny to think this time last year Brown and co weren't too worried about keeping Rossdog now he's close to our best player ......

big day of footy - start with the Mathews grandfinal at 11 - then 3 internationals with Knights in all of them.
