We won the minor premiership in under 20s in 2006.
    The players from that squad who went on to firstgrade were;
    Kade Snowden
    Jarrod Mullen
    Aku Uate
    James McManus
    Terrence SeuSeu
    Cory Paterson
    Steve Gordon
    Luke Walsh
    Scott Dureau
    Tim Natusch
and a few others like Jono Wright, Ben Farrar and Brendan Hlad (Castleford) played elsewhere.

In 2014 we won the minor premiership in under 20s.
    The players from that squad who have so far played firstgrade are;
    Jake Mamo
    Joseph Tapine
    Sione Mata'utia
    Danny Levi
    Lauclan Fitzgibbon
    Jaelean Feeney
    Brock Lamb
    Jack Cogger
    Luke Yates
    Josh King

It would take a miracle for us to lose the 2018 minor premiership.
    Only 1 player so far has made firstgrade;
    Pasami Saulo

In a typical year we get between 0 and 2 or 3 firstgraders from our junior squads, but we can look forward to about 10 making it in the next few years - 4 or 5 of them should go on to have long careers if the past is any guide.

Matt Croker. 100% class from head to toe.
Made every rep team and won every award coming through the grades.
Started last year in Ball as a 17/18 year old - finished the season as our starting prop in NYC over guys up to 3 years older than him.
Started this year on the bench behind some of the new 20 year old props we bought. Finishing the season starting prop playing the longest minutes of any of our middle forwards.
He could play under 20s next year, but I fully expect him to do a firstgrade off season and play the whole season in seniors.
Best off loader at the club. Great hands, Hard worker, hard as nails, very, very smart player.

Another good thing about this year is the number of under 20s players who have played reserve grade. Some years we have as few as 1 or 2 get the chance, but this year we have gone close to using all the players who turn 20 this year, and one who turns 19 (Tex Hoy)
    1 Matt Cooper
    2 Jayden Musgrove
    3 Mitch Andrews
    4 Beau Fermor
    5
    6 Tex Hoy
    7 Hayden Loughrey
    8 Pasami Saulo
    9 Tom Starling
    10 Jirah Momoisea
    11 Brodie Jones
    12 Kurtis Dark
    13 Tevita Alifa

Jones, Saulo, Andrews, Hoy and Starling have been the best of them, with Fermor and Loughrey also doing better than I expected.

Star Toa rounds out 13 under 20s.
Someone must have known we needed an outside back.

Are we on the cusp of a new era of local juniors plus others coming through our U20's to strengthen our reserves and to proceed through to 1sts, hope so.

Frank, the key to your statement is “ strengthen our reserves and proceed to 1sts” in the past the U 20s thought making the Juniors was the end of the line and they would skip straight into 1st with these unrealistic expectations they were destined to failure.
They need the big body collisions and the “street smarts” developed on and by Reserves to hone the skills ,develop physically and especially defensively for when they get the opportunity IF they are called into 1grade

I think Mooney is using his skill at predicting which players have potential to develop on our junior squads.
I think it has been a plan to give all the players turning 20 some time in reserve grade to see how they handle it, and Mooney, Lowrie, Kosjaysyn, Dureau and Brown will use the information gathered this year to make very considered decisions on which players will get the nod for next year.
In the past I think the focus has been on kids who do the hard work and have a great attitude.
This year we seem to be focusing on gifted athletes like Hoy, Toa, Saulo, Jones, etc.

If we had focused on gifted athletes earlier latrell Mitchell might be a knight.

Considering Dan and akus quality we should probably have someone on the central coast knocking on every fijian families door asking if their sons want to play for the knights
