I’m gonna be hoping to get to it. Would be a great opening game of the year.

We'll win 24-12. Tommy Turbo will get the first try. Ponga will get our first try. Lamb will get man of the match and kick 4 from 4.

That being said I still picked us by 13 + mostly because my mathematics skills are poor.

Should be a really entertaining opening game.

I hate Manly but they played an attractive brand of footy this year. They should improve on that and we also look more of an attacking team next year

I thought our attack was pretty solid in the 20. Our defence let us down a lot. Will be good to have some go forward and known defenders in the side. Plus the youngsters will be better. I'm excited too see what can/will unfold.

We need a better kicking game inside the 20 to get repeat set or score from for me

I am afraid I am with Beatell.

Our attack in the opps twenty too often seemed to be of one out stuff. Late in the year Fitzy in particular, and Sam Stone to a lesser extent, received good ball from our halves and ran great lines to go over. More of that would be great and with the likes of Moga, Ponga, SKW and the Mad Dawg chipping in out wide, 2018 looks full of promise.

I agree with the kicking game in the 20 but not the attack. With more "explosive" players so to speak we should be looking at kicking more. I'd be thinking Brown asked them to run and get tackled as opposed to kicking it going dead then having to defend a 7 tackle set.

Lamb was kicking for SKD for a few games before he got injured, and setting up some very dangerous plays.
He isn't a kick and hope sort of guy. He is the sort of kicker who hits a target when he has one - and before SKD arrived, he didn't have a target to hit.

I remember last year he put a kick across for skd who jumped for it but was off the mark. He reached out and batted the ball along in mid air.

Landed, reached out, caught the ball and scored.

That moment convinced me we had made the right call signing him, and that we should kick to him more often.

I think in the modern game with the spoiling defence on the line you must be doing dribbling kicks for try’s. The defence is so well set and slow these days

The bomb from further out doesn't work these days as much. I do expect with continued media attention on the blockers ruining the game, the NRL will crack down on it.

But the cross field chip kick from their 10 and 20 works still, the defence doesn't have the space to get blockers set then.

I really wish they would change the rule so that if it goes dead from a kick within the 20m line it’s just a normal set restart not a 7 tackle set

    Yeah cant wait,

I truly believe Manly will be a very strong side this year,
Besides green leaving, the roster they have is very stable from last season.

We will need a strong game to win rd1.
I hope we do win but see us being a bit to rough around the edges to get the points.
    Manly 28-16

Spoken with a few mates who say turbo has risen another level since the world cup, the guy is a freak tbh.
If Ponga becomes as good as him in the nrl we will have a awesome player for yrs

I reckon we will win this one Manly without Walker, Lussiack and with a rookie at six. Without lussiack Manlys prop stocks look a little light and I think Green will be a massive loss I expect DCE to not reach the heights he did last season without Green their to take the pressure off him and just let him play his natural game. The one game Green missed last year I think it was against the Raiders or another mid table side and Manly got towelled up.
