So we can pick players from when Brian Smith gutted our junior program till when Tinkler funded it again?
    Seems fair.

Not much doing for many years after Joey, as Billy said a side effect of Brian Smith's cull, whether you saw that as a negative or positive, but looks like in recent years starting to pump out some juniors again.

We got the premiership in under 18s in 2004 and minor premiership in under 20s in 2006 with players like Snowden, Uate, Walsh, McManus, Dureau, Paterson, Mullen etc.
In 2007 Brian Smith took all the funding out of juniors and spent it on firstgrade.
In 2014 Tinkler put over a million into juniors and signed players like Sione, Mamo, Lamb, Cogger, Levi, Tapine, Fitzgibbon, King, Yates, Sam Stone, Saulo, Jones, Starling, Tevita Pangai etc. Since 2014 we have won minor and major premierships in under 16s, under 18s, a minor premiership in under 20s and a premiership in reserve grade.

If you don't spend money, you don't get results.

Tinkler bought the club in 2011 and was booted out in 2014. He'll have been gone 4 years in a few months.

I feel like i'm talking down to a child, but i'll explain that it takes a few years for 16 year olds to develop.

After all his troubles Tinkler doesn't look like a particularly savvy businessman, but tipping $1m into juniors after he lost control of the club would be right up there.

Let me explain it very slowly for you.
Tinkler increased the funding and got Bennett and Graham Murray to develop the best model.
They developed a program to bring on our best juniors.
The club has kept up the program and the spending, because it has been working.
Guys like Sione, Lamb, Cogger, Stone and the Saifitis made firstgrade as teenagers because we spent a lot of money on coaching and training for them.
Tinkler started it. It is still happening.
I hope that is simple enough for you.
I'd have to use pictures to dumb it down any further.

    Keep resorting to personal attacks.

9 out of 10 imports are terrible, so it should be a simple task to find a better team of local players over the last 11 years.

when he no longer owned the club. quite generous of him.

Tinkler walked away from the club in May 2014. He made the funding decisions for 2014 before that.

It doesn't matter local or otherwise as long as they are best for club and get us the best result, I think any good local junior will always have a strong following from those that look at the club from juniors to seniors. If you only look at seniors, 1st grade, then you can't understand that feeling of loyalty to someone that has strived locally to make the side they always aspired to, and then that feeling of "it's not fair" when they almost achieve there dream and then a superstar is brought in to take there dreams and aspirations away. Its tough being an inspiring footballer a whole lot tougher than being an arm chair critic.

This is going nowhere so I'm going to close this thread for a while

I've seen alot of debate and comments in a few threads about locals vs non locals and to be quite frank I don't give a sh** where a player comes from and I think the majority of people on here don't care either, They just want players to give 100% and perform at their best for the Knights

Time to move on guys :)
