Scott Dureau has been appointed the coach.
He gets to basically coach the players he had in under 18s last year and the guys who continue on from last year.

Fullback - Tex Hoy, Star Toa and Bradman Best are all potential fullbacks.

Wing - Probably Rasiga and Worley will continue on from last year.

    Centre - Toa, Best, ?

Halves - Crossland and Hoy are the obvious choices.

Hooker - Huth, Sasagi, there were 2 other good ones in under 18s last year - can't think of their names

Props - Matt Croker, Tom Baker, I think Russell might be young enough, Kingston Peru ???

Second row - Talty, Harry Croker, Gardiner, Purcell

It's a pretty decent talent pool already, and if last year is any guide, we can expect some talented recruits as well.

Dureau has plenty to work with, and he has had at least a year working with most of these guys already.

Id be suprised if Crocker and Purcell start 20s when they are still able to play SG Ball. Maybe onxe the ball season is over they will progress and play games.!

    Good.
He was getting better and better towards the end of this season. Nearly as good as Croker I thought.

Article in the Herald says all the members of the Newcastle Rebels under 20s side from this year who will be young enough to play under 20s next year have had offers from NRL clubs. Only 2, Jack Cameron and Ben Talty, will be at the Knights. They were both regular members of the Knights under 20s towards the end of 2018.

Every team does that mate. Just because they are doing pre season with Flegg doesnt mean they are playing flegg. Both boys will start with Ball & then be pushed up to Flegg at some point throughout the season.

The good thing about him is that he doesn't have any obvious areas where he will struggle - he is a decent height for a half, about 6 foot - he kicks the hell out of the ball, he always gets 15 or 20 metres more than you'd expect - he is as fast as a back - and he has a quality passing game, putting guys through gaps all the time.
All he needs is to pack on 15kg of muscle and keep working on his skills and there's no reason he can't kick on.

Looks like a few coming down from QLD.

One to watch in particular is Lochlan Turnbull (Ipswich Jets MM/Colts). Loves a try or two and can also goalkick.

Best to SG Ball, Toa to Cup? Seems a bit odd.

Brock Gardiner is a player I thought would be there - he has been one of our best forwards in 16s and 18s and this should be his year to break into 20s.
