2018/2019 Indian tour of Australia

The pitch is so erratic, the Indians should not make too many on it.

Australia go from 4/190 to all out for 243, Target is 287

Great partnership from Starc and Hazlewood of 36 runs, Could that be the difference ??

The pitch is doing some funny things and the new ball was doing all sorts, Very interesting chase coming up

India 2/15 at tea !! Kohli is the key, If we can get him cheaply then we can really get a roll on I think

India 5/112 and still need 175 to win at stumps

Australia right on top, 1 more wicket and we are into the bowlers

I'm absolutely loving this test match. Love Virat's fire and brimstone and love the accidental hero Tim Paine giving it straight back to him. Australia need to find that ruthless edge now, even though that's probably against what they're being told.

Our bowlers show more cricket smarts and guts than the batsmen who consistently get out trying to play the big BBL shots rather than patiently building an innings.

Hopefully we clean them up quick for a win, down side is they may retain the same players for Melb. Tell Finch to rest and hope his replacement plays well, Hanscombe is on very shaky ground along with Marsh. 7-11 look good and only injury will change them.
I would consider Maxwell and Stoinis for Marsh and Hanscombe and anyone of about 3 openers for Finch.

Agree Frank, Hanscombe looks lost. Either of Maxwell or Stoinis would surely be a better option in the middle order.

14 in squad, 11 to play leaving M Marsh, Siddle and Tremain from those that played in test leaving only option Marsh in for Hanscombe or no changes unless an injury. Not good.

It’s only a 13 man squad for the last 2 tests, Tremain has been released from the squad.

The team that won the toss was always going to win the second test because the only decent batting conditions were on day 1.
Kohli almost gave India a chance with a great innings in the conditions.
If we had Smith this series would be a classic series.

The pitch used for the Perth Stadium's inaugural Test match, last week's second Domain Test between Australia and India, has received the lowest possible pass mark from the ICC.

It is understood match referee Ranjan Madugalle rated the pitch at the new Perth Stadium as 'average', which is the lowest pass mark provided by the ICC when they rate the pitch and outfield of Test grounds.

The ICC introduced a disciplinary system at the start of the year in a bid to improve the standard of pitches around the world and can provide six ratings – very good, good, average, below average, poor and unfit – when rating Test venues.

It is understood the Adelaide Oval pitch used in the first Domain Test received a 'very good' rating.

Madugalle was responsible for the rating of 'poor' given to the MCG a year ago when Australia and England battled out a draw, while two of the past four Boxing Day Tests have also finished in a draw.

MCG curator Matt Page has been working hard to inject some life into the Melbourne deck and he had the covers on the pitch on Friday afternoon, with heavy showers hitting the area later in the day.

Further rain is forecast on Saturday before both teams get their first look at the pitch, which will shape Mitch Marsh's hopes of a recall, on Sunday.

Madugalle was in charge of the first half of the four-Test series between Australia and India, locked at 1-1, but Andy Pycroft will be match referee at the MCG and SCG.

The Perth verdict is presumably related to the uneven bounce that resulted in a couple of nasty blows.

Aaron Finch retired hurt after his right glove was struck by a Mohammed Shami delivery, although he was cleared of any serious damage and returned to the crease the following day.

There were no public complaints from either camp and broader commentary about the Perth wicket was almost entirely positive.

"Anyone who says there's anything wrong with that wicket, they must've been watching a different game," Australia coach Justin Langer said earlier this week.

India captain Virat Kohli noted before the match the pitch is "something we're very excited about".

Western Australian Cricket Association (WACA) chief Christina Matthews, speaking during the Test, described the pitch as "an outstanding success".

Sorry but this test team does not fill me with confidence, batting 1-6 is very Suss, have a merry Christmas but I do hope Boxing Day onward is just as merry, my best hope is a flat track with rain interruptions playing out to a draw, please.

Both openers getting the chop. Wasn’t expecting that.

Jadeja an obvious inclusion. No idea why he didn’t get picked last test especially when none of their bowlers can hold the bat.
