Gotta feel for Nathan Lyon, Leading wicket-taker in 2017 but didn't make the Test Team of the Year

Instead they went for Ashwin who as an Indian player has the advantage of playing most of his tests at home

When you compare their numbers, Lyon beats him in every category and they played the same amount of games

Although I think the reporting period is more than 12 months so it may go on late 2016 too

    Lyon in 2017

    Games - 11
    Wickets - 63
    Average - 23.55
    Strike Rate - 52.2
    BBI - 8/50
    BBM - 13/154
    Economy Rate - 2.70
    5WI - 5
    10WM - 1

    Ashwin in 2017

    Games - 11
    Wickets - 56
    Average - 27.58
    Strike Rate - 59.3
    BBI - 6/41
    BBM - 8/125
    Economy Rate - 2.78
    5WI - 2
    10WM - 0

And Ashwin gets to play on spinning tracks when India are at home.

Lyon's non-selection undermines the credibility to the team.

It's a tough call on Lyon, especially looking at the stats, wickets and economy.
