2017/2018 Ashes Series: 5th Test

For England to salvage a draw you would think that Root and Bairstow would have to bat until after tea

There are a minimum of 61 overs to be bowled and the New Ball is available in 5 overs time

Should be a fascinating session coming up

Just looking at the stats for the series and what really stood out to me was the leading wicket takers

They were saying it's only the 3rd time in Test History that a team has had 4 bowlers take 20 wickets or more in a 5 match series

Besides Anderson the rest of the English bowlers have had little to no impact

2017/2018 Ashes Leading Wicket Takers

Mitchell Starc - 22
Nathan Lyon - 21
Josh Hazlewood - 20
Pat Cummins - 20
James Anderson - 17
Stuart Broad - 11
Chris Woakes - 10
Craig Overton - 6
Moeen Ali - 5
Joe Root - 2
Tom Curran - 2
Jake Ball - 1
Mason Crane - 1

Game, set and match 9 wickets down.

I did think the Poms would make more of a match of the series. Their pace attack is old and slow. Yesterday Anderson and Broad bowled at high 120's to low 130's. Our pacemen bowled at high 130's to mid 140s and that made a huge difference in bounce and pace off the wicket.

Thanks for all the updates, team selections and background information roughie.
