Paul Carter

Wobbles

Here's hoping this muppet isn't using the Real NRL as a stepping stone to try and resurrect his career.

Incredibly unlikely he'd ever get a run with the Knights, doubt anyone at the club would seriously entertain the possibility.

Cessnock Goannas Sign NRL Bad Boy

The Cessnock Goannas have signed NRL bad boy Paul Carter to a one-year deal.

The 25 year old has played 40 top flight games for the Gold Coast Titans, South Sydney and the Roosters since making his NRL debut in 2014.

He's been sacked from all three clubs for off-field indiscretions.

There were reports the son of former Panthers great Steve Carter recently tried to get a start in the Queensland Cup.

Why ??

50 klm is not far enough distance away from this piece of poison- not shown the door from 3 NRL Clubs for nothing.

Yep, spot on.

Wonder whether there's scope for a club exclusively comprising the "Bad Boys".

Carney, Ferguson, Dugan, Packer, Carter...
Sure there's enough to pull together a solid roster.

Image it: no restrictions or bans on bad behaviour, every Monday would be Mad Monday.

I imagine Cessnock locals would teach this mongrel a lesson if brings his historical antics to the coalfields.

I would love to see the Knights Give Pauly Carter another crack I always believe in second chances.

Bit harsh. Hard bloke that can play some good football.

Bit harsh , my butt. I know a lot of Hard blokes that can and have played great footy , but they were blokes you would jump in a trench with and know your back was covered a real testament to Camaraderie forged in Team Sport , this bloke is nothing but poison with a track record of burning teammates to save himself.

No team can be built with the stigma of this trait lingering around- Teamwork is built on the strength of Trust.

I know most "party boys" are the best blokes to be around for a fun time , but are you willing to be left "carrying the Bag" when it goes South ?

Carter will carve up the real NRL and I reckon his mate SKD will get him back into the Knights.

Magistrate lashes former Roosters player Paul Carter for no-show on drug sentence

A Sydney magistrate says it's "absolutely unacceptable" that former NRL Roosters player Paul James Carter failed to show up for his court sentencing for supplying cocaine.

The 25-year-old was due to be sentenced at Downing Centre Local Court on Wednesday for supplying a small quantity of the drug to ex-teammate Shaun Kenny- Dowall at the Ivy nightclub in early May.

Carter initially pleaded not guilty to supplying a prohibited drug but it emerged in October he'd changed his plea to guilty.

His lawyer, Daniel Grippi, on Wednesday told the court his client was "suffering from significant stress and anxiety". It was revealed Carter was overseas in a rehabilitation centre.

Mr Grippi said he emailed the court last week after becoming aware of Carter's travel.

However, that didn't sit well with magistrate Susan McIntyre.

"It's not your decision to make," she said on Wednesday.

"He's gone off overseas and we're just supposed to stand around here waiting for him?

"It is just unacceptable ... absolutely unacceptable."

The defence sought an adjournment until February 20 but the magistrate ordered the matter return to court on January 10.

Carter was excused from appearing if he is legally represented.

"What I am proposing, having vented my spleen about this matter, is that we have an update well prior to the amended sentence (date)," Ms McIntyre said.

"It's my view that he should be present today."

The magistrate asked for the update to include Carter's whereabouts and details of his participation in rehabilitation. She told Mr Grippi to treat the situation as "a lesson".

Kenny-Dowall, who now plays for the Newcastle Knights, was previously spared a conviction after he pleaded guilty to possessing .29 of a gram of cocaine at the nightclub.

The 29-year-old was sentenced in June to a 12-month good behaviour bond.

I don't know what is unacceptable about being in a treatment facility.
I've seen that used about a 100 times and it was always not only acceptable, but usually praised.
It must be because it's overseas I suppose.

Not when you conveniently enter said rehab facility 1 week prior to your court date. He was charged 4 months ago, why was he not in rehab before?

Maybe getting in some pre-season training with the Goannas beforehand? :giggle:
