The Canterbury-Bankstown Bulldogs have agreed to part company with head coach Des Hasler effective immediately.

The club informed Hasler that they felt that it was in the best interests of both parties if the club moved forward under the direction of another head coach.

Hasler, has been at the Bulldogs since 2012 and coached them for six seasons.

Bulldogs chairman Ray Dib spoke about the decision:

"Today, I informed Des Hasler and his management of our decision to pursue a new head coach for our club, effective immediately.

The heads of agreement reached with Des Hasler for an extension of his contract were non-binding and a decision has been made not to renew his contract for next year.

"These types of conversations are never easy, especially when they involve people we respect personally and professionally, however, the club believes the decision to change our football leadership was absolutely necessary.

"The club will now begin its search for a new head coach and will provide further information once that process has been completed."

He'd be a fantastic coach for us right now.
He is very good at putting together a team structure and at game plans.

That's if you want to see Danny Levi never run from dummy half and the team score less points than they already do.

I was thinking more about his 2 premierships, 1 minor premiership and 4 grandfinals.

Few gone this year

Laurie Daley
Des Hasler
Neil Henry
Michael Maguire
Jason Taylor

Might be a few who are really under the pump next year too

I reckon McGregor, Kearney and Griffin could all go if they have bad seasons

Brown is off contract too so he could be another one

Don't think Browny had anything to worry about if you get hold of CEO Phil Gardner's comments, he could be here for years.

First order of business will be contract extension.

If Brown gets a top 10 finish he'll be getting an extension for sure.

Brown is locked in for a contract extension barring the knights starting next season with 5-10 straight losses.

Weve spent a few seasons with a lot of turmoil with player turnover, ownership change, ceo change coming up and new board etc.

What we need now is stability for a few seasons and see where we are at then.

Apparently pay had said the dogs will be playing bulldogs football.

Sounds like a recipe for failure to me. They needed a progressive coach not a backwards looking coach.

The game as moved on.
