I go to Planet Fitness (next door to EAS) 2-3 times a week so that I can get fit enough for the army.
I have a personal trainer and a program that keeps track of my work outs.
This is my program:
Weights
Shoulder Press - 30 lbs
Chest Press - 55 lbs
Pec Dec - 60 lbs
Reverse delts - 55 lbs
Seated row - 60 lbs
Lateral pull down - 105 lbs
Ab Crunch - Level 8
With each machine I do 2 sets of 12 reps.
Cardio
Bike - 10 mins x level 6 on manual work out
Rowing machine - 1000m
Does anyone else go to the gym?
Yeah. I've been going on and off for a few years. I tend to have a few months hard out, then get lazy or busy, stop for a few months, then pick it up again.
Haven't been to the gym lately, I've been working out with dumbbells at home. Recently I've just been working lightly though. I have a few day rotation of working out biceps/triceps, shoulders, chest and quad/calves.
Best feeling in the world when you start seeing results.

Got a pretty good home gym. On average I probably work out 5 days a week. Been doing it for a few years now.

Go to my local one as well, try to go after school 3 days a week and one day on the weekend. Benched 100 this week so im pretty stoked considering i was doing 60 a few months ago.
I train at NSWIS & SCG Gym in Homebush mostly and the rest of my program I can do at home.
I don't go to the gym I do the dvds at home with dave, it's a sight I tell you lol.
I hate that planet fitness radio ad. "Plan-et FIT-ness". It gets stuck in my head and probably is now thanks for that lol

few years ago...probably too young to really get much benefit out of it..all I can remember is doing standing shoulder press, bench press, and leg extension and leg curls...oh and mucking around passing the medicine balls like footys' (not allowed anymore I would say...don't do it or the gym nazis' will throw you out or something)

I would like to some day if I could find someone to go with, but I'd definitely last about two sessions if I went alone haha.
Would probably help with batting if I could get some upper body strength. My legs are sort of muscly, but top half is extremely feeble haha.

I used to go to the on-campus gym at uni...did go alright for a while, but then a pile of work did it undone.

Agree, I normally go on my own and it's hard to get motivation to do anything. When I go with a mate it's a different story thankfully

agreed. That's why I make Dave do the DVD's with me and frustratingly he still eats lots of take away and loses kilos just by thinking about it. grr. Darn you men and your metabolisms :fist:

Nah at planet fit they only have machines in pounds
I'm only a beginner so my weights are lower than most on here..

Well I've eaten nothign but junkfood for two months, and I'm skinnier and weigh less than when I started, haha. I think I'm malnourished though, which isn't a good thing (it's happened before, I really shouldn't be put in charge of my own diet).

At some gyms, the weights are in kgs and at others in lbs
Anyway, I went today and was pushing myself heaps hard and doing really well. Then I felt like I needed to throw up so I stopped about half way through..

Done some testing today to see how I am going in regards to getting in the army.
I can just do the required 15 push ups
And I can do 42 sit ups, but I was doing them a bit too quick (you are only meant to do one every 3 seconds) so I reckon I can do the 45 easy.
I just have to find somewhere to do the beep test, the requirement is 7.5 and in school days I could normally get somewhere near that.
So yeah I think I am doing alright
Btw check out this freak

Bump.
How's everybody going now?
I've just started to mix in some cardio with my weights, currently following this program: http://www.coolrunning.com/engine/2/2_3/181.shtml
It's worth a try. I doubt I'd ever be able to go 5K's any time soon, but I've already seen improvement from when I started on the first week. I'm onto the 3rd week now.

I stopped doing bikes and rowing, swapped to running instead. I normally do 1.5kms at a time. My best so far is 7:11 which was set on Monday, I'm aiming to get under 7 minutes
If I really wanna, I will run 2kms in 12 minutes, or do 2.5kms in 14 minutes
And I added some extra weights, and increased the weights
Weights
Shoulder Press - 40 lbs (can almost finish 2 sets on 45)
Arm Curl - 40 lbs
Chest Press - 65 lbs
Pec Dec - 80 lbs
Reverse delts - 60 lbs
Seated row - 80 lbs
Lateral pull down - 130 lbs
Ab Crunch - Level 8
Leg Press - Level 6
Oh and I lost focus after 2 weeks on that push up program, lol
