How could you say that when NZ won the World Cup back in 2000!??! They are at least worth a mention (and they almost won the Rosebowl last year).
As for that schedule - NZ is playing Australia in a test at the Gabba while I am in Brisbane! Sweet, my schedule now include both world cup semis, the final, and a couple of days at the test match!

Fly to Brisbane on a Saturday for the first semi, then to Sydney on Sunday morning for the second semi, then back to Brisbane midweek for the final, then home on Sunday after the final.

Dont bag the Wollongong boy :(, he'll come good, we should win the ashes, but no doubt the pommies will prepare some dodgy wickets suiting their swing bowlers (we we dont have many)

I reckon we need to take a pure swing bowler over there, i think Johnson has been touted as a swinger but he rarely gets much movement in internationals for some reason, from memory Hilfenhouse swings the ball a mile, but i havnt really been following the cricket in the off-season to know if he is test quality yet.

That's one of the worst cricket jerseys of all time
Yeah it is horrible, all CCC jerseys seem to look awful these days like all the union jerseys have stupid white patches and stuff - the Warriors have signed with CCC for next season which means their new jersey could be similar to this.
pommieknight
30-09-2008, 07:03 PM
Are Canterbury trying to adapt Rugby Union jerseys to fit cricket? That's daft - they're different sports, the players have different requirements. What's a player to do if his dot tells him he's too hot? Tell the umpire? Cue much sledging about playing hot/cold.
England's named their squad for India over the Winter. No Vaughan - Owais Shah in for him, and Graeme Swann as second spinner. Looks promising, although I might have had the Yorkshire lad, Adil Rashid, as 2nd spinner alongside Monty.

Yeah I was thinking the same thing about the sledging. Apparently if the dots show they are too hot then the player knows he needs a drink. And if they're too cold then they need to start scoring some runs.

Inida have started the fued again.
BANGALORE - Ricky Ponting has ensured a fiery backdrop to the first test against India today, saying he was insulted by accusations the Australians had cheated during the last series.
Indian opener Virender Sehwag yesterday declared his side would have won the spiteful Sydney test in January if the Australians hadn't dishonestly claimed catches "off half volleys".
Ponting returned fire, suggesting the Indians had short memories.
"That's fairly insulting (to say we claimed catches that weren't), especially in the first innings, I didn't claim a catch because I wasn't 100 per cent sure," Ponting said.
"It's amazing how they've picked out a lot of negatives from that game and don't seem to be speaking about the Perth test, where we probably had the same things happen to us.
"Not one member of the Australian team has spoken about that - we go about our cricket in different ways."
Sehwag had claimed India was at the wrong end of more decisions during the series won 2-1 by Australia.
"We suffered the most in the catches pact during the last series," Sehwag told ESPN-STAR.
"There is no point in having such an arrangement when the Australians are claiming one-bounce catches.
"We'd have won the Sydney test if they hadn't claimed catches off half-volleys in that game."
Despite his anger, Ponting did show some pleasure that the Sydney result still weighed heavily on the minds of his opponents.
"The sheer thing that they are still thinking about the Sydney test is a good thing for us, we've obviously moved on, a long time since then," he said.
"There was a lot that came out of that test, but we addressed the issues coming out of the game and it would appear, to us, they haven't.
"I'm not sure what they are trying to achieve. It was a test we won, a crucial test for the overall series. As I said at the time, it was one of the best moments I've had on a cricket field. To win the way we did was an outstanding effort by the team."
The last day dramas in Sydney, when India were bowled out in two sessions to lose a match they had largely controlled, led Indian skipper Anil Kumble to give birth to the "Bollyline" tag by stating that "only one team was playing in the spirit of the game".
Kumble's Indians then threatened to pull out of the series, agreeing to continue only after the International Cricket Council (ICC) pacified them by standing down West Indian umpire Steve Bucknor from the subsequent Perth test.
Indian officials again threatened to abandon the tour before a charge of racial abuse against Harbhajan Singh by Andrew Symonds, following an incident that took place in Sydney, was downgraded to the lesser offence of using abusive language.
Today, Kumble took a more diplomatic stance.
"I think that's all past, let's not sit and dwell on what has happened in the past, I think this series will definitely be played in the right way," he said.

I've always thought it is so weird how teams can't chase down scores like that ... when you look at it on paper it should be really easy. I know that it's not like one-dayers, so bowlers can bowl for as long as they like and fielders can go anywhere, but how hard should it be to work around four singles an over?

Pretty much agreed except that I think Hilfenhaus will be there ahead of anyone, and probably Hauritz will retain his spot as well.

True about Hilfy
And not sure about Hauri..he's a dud.

But he's taken a couple of wickets hasn't he? I think that with Sydney being a typically spin friendly wicket he's probably done enough...

You find such pleasure in that don't you haha. To be honest, we were always gone. We should have got them out early yesterday but let them get away with it. Changes need to be made, heads will roll.

I agree. I think it's time for a clean-out...Hayden needs to be dropped ASAP.

God I hate Australia sucking our bowling attack is beyond pathetic so many people are blaming Ponting but how can he set fields to this bowling there giving him nothing

Seriously WTF?! Ponting is the only one that has actually scored runs in this match, he's the reason the test is still going!!!
Johnson is about the only consistent bowler this summer. We have next to no options in terms of spin, Lee has been far from his best, and I don't understand for the life of me why an injured Symonds was put in ahead of Watson! Madness!

His batting is great he's a decent captain the selectors need to change the bowlers

Of the players that were around with all the recently retired superstars, Ponting seems to be the only one standing up for you guys. Symonds, Lee, Hussey and Clarke, these guys should be doing more than they are.
It is quite enjoyable seeing the Australian cricket team lose for once, I have nothing against any other Australian sporting teams, but the cricketers have always been arrogant fools, with the odd exception like Gilchrist.

Clarke is standing up he's getting runs despite not being in great touch

Yeah, just checked his innings list on Cricinfo and you're right, he has been scoring runs.
Hayden is one I didn't mention ... but hard to criticise him after his great career. He just seems to be past it now ... although he's been in terrible form before and come back with some unbelievable scores.

If we were in this test, we would have already lost to either side by an innings and 200 runs hahaha.
