Knights 18 defeated by Vulcans 44

Quite disappointing really considering they were undefeated leading up to this match, probably missed Bailey alot.

Would've been a very physical game. They probably did miss Bailey's defense in the halves and Matt White up in the pack too.

Knights defeated 18-10 by the Eels

Ended up being closer then I though, the way our team played I'm surprised the Eels didn't put any more points on.

Has any one seen how tall the fullback is ? Johnathon Ford ? he is dead set about a thouuusand metres tall.

Yes he was a very tall lad, there is a huge difference from NRL to this Youth Comp too, its no wonder guys like Folau, Inu clearly stood out.

Luke Walsh must not have had a good game, Mitchell Sargent had also played.

Read the HM/SG Draw KN7

I thought the number 7 for the NYC Knights was alright. His a little Poly I think but he looked good. Didnt see much from the Hooker. I'm looking forward to some Broadcasts though to learn more about the players.

Ive heard good things about the SG ball side, and they were playing the Eels who are lower grade powerhouses, so to only loose by 2 points must have been a good effort.

This can relate to First grade too, however not much in this article!

AFTER winning five from five the previous week, the Knights could not crack it for a win in any grade at the weekend.

The Eels pipped Newcastle 24-23 in extra time in the NRL game at Parramatta Stadium on Friday, having beaten the Knights 18-10 in the National Youth Competition curtain-raiser.

Parramatta backed up the next day by thrashing the previously unbeaten Knights 50-10 in Harold Matthews (under 16s) and 24-22 in SG Ball (under 18s) in the NSW Rugby League junior representative games at The Gardens.

The Central Newcastle Knights suffered their first loss of the NSW Cup competition on Saturday, going down 44-18 to Auckland Vulcans at Henham Park.

Knights operations manager Warren Smiles said prop Mitchell Sargent continued to make steady progress in his second game back after a double bout of pneumonia in the pre-season.

"Sarge got through plenty of minutes, and him and Mark Taufua went well up front for us," Smiles said.

"[Centre] Junior Sau came off a bit early with a tight hamstring but that was mainly precautionary. Apart from that there were no real injury dramas."

Sarge sounds like he is struggling, which is understandable.

He may find it hard to get back into first grade again.
