Whew - no one's messing with Nine's call boys
IMAGINE a world without Rabs. No Sterlo. Sans Gus. This was the situation being discussed last week amid speculation that Channel Nine was about to hand over its rugby league coverage to Fox Sports.

SinBin understands that Fox Sports boss David Malone put a proposal to Nine that it outsource its broadcasts in order to save dollars - something that has become a fine art at Willoughby in recent times. There was talk that could mean the end of Nine's long-standing commentary team, with Fox Sports callers used instead. But we're assured that Nine dismissed the proposal almost as soon as it received it. That doesn't mean the defection of Fox Sports commentator Laurie Daley to Nine is no longer on the cards. Negotiations are continuing and there is a belief he could next year lob on The Footy Show, which could be split into NSW and Queensland versions.

Thought this was interesting.. I personally dont mind ch9 ( Rabs is the best) . Some on fox sports are soo crap!

Lol i'm the opposite hate mith but Dailly is ok. More 2 the point imagine what it would do 2 the game if there was no free to air games. That would be the crappest thing of all. So glad they rejected it. And the footy show into 2 versions. I hope that means fatty goes 2 qld he has been annoying me a bit lately. It does seem a bit werid though that it has had really crappy rateings and so now they make 2 of it

Na they werent suggesting taking away Free to Air.... All it means is there would be still two games on Friday and one on sunday, but it would be on 9, using the Fox sports commentators. So it would look like watching a game on fox.

oh I see, I thought it ment that they would outsoure the game as in give it 2 fox to do. Why would fox want 2 do it if they didn't get anything out of it? Like nine would still get all the ratings and fox would still have all the costs. I no they would get paid but u think they would want the costs at the very least so the whole thing doesn't really seem like a money saver
