2007 City Origin vs Country Origin:

City Origin 12 defeated Country Origin 6.

It was a dour struggle for supremacy in the annual City vs Country clash. Both sides lacked in the halves, putting more jitters into a dodgy looking New South Wales state of origin side.

Robbie Farrah scored the only try for City in the first half, when he beat Kurt Gidley to dive over from dummy half in the 18th minute.

Injuries hit Country hard in the end of the first half, with Phil Graham injuring his knee, then Brett Kimmorley getting knocked out late in the first half.

It was another try from dummy-half in the 49th minute, when Anthony Quinn bustled across to make the score 8-6. But City delivered what ended up as the knock-out punch when Quinn missed a tackle to allow Ryan Hoffman to gallop across in the 61st minute.

Country had a wealth of possession in the final 15 minute, at one point holding the ball for 8 minutes in a row, but they couldn't crack City. They had their best chance right on fulltime when Kurt Gidley ran off a Preston Campbell pass, but fittingly, given the quality of the clash, he lost the ball over the line.

Danny Buderus had a great game, despite one or two handling errors, and off the bench Clint Newton had his best match of the year.
